It's an apt title for the film inspired by Toby Young's memoirs of his gaff-laden time at Vanity Fair. The film sees tactless Brit scribbler Sydney Young take his inflated opinion of himself across the pond, to great comic effect.

Despite playing a pompous arrogant fool, Simon Pegg can't stop exuding charm, making Young's character forgivable and his numerous faux pas funny, rather than offensive.

Young just can’t stop putting his foot in it, as the cultural differences between the States and the UK become a source of friction. His humour goes unappreciated and his attitude poorly regarded as he tries to throw his weight around in an environment he is supremely unsuited for.

He might think that by hiring a stripper he's bonding with his new buddies, but to do so on Take Your Daughter To Work Day shows his exquisitely gauche timing.

Also featuring Megan Fox as the celebrity sexpot, Gillian Anderson as the hardball agent and Kirsten Dunst as the love interest, How To Lose… is a cracking little Anglo-American comedy.
