Activate Remote Record with Sky+

If you're at work or out socialising when you realise you forgot to set your Sky+ to record a favourite programme, don't worry – thanks to Sky Remote Record you can send a recording request to your Sky+ box using any computer with an internet connection, your mobile phone or a text message or

Before you can start using Remote Record, you'll first need to activate the service. This is free, but you need a Sky+ subscription and if you're not the Sky+ subscriber in your household, you should obtain their permission before you start.

Once you've activated Remote Record, your Sky+ box will recognise your mobile number and you'll have a username and password for when you send recording requests via the Sky.com website.

Activating Remote Record


If you don’t already have a My Sky account, you can register here. Once you’ve created a My Sky account you’ll also be given the option to register for Sky Mobile if you have a compatible phone.

Once you've completed this, visit Sky.com/remoterecord and follow the simple on-screen instructions to activate Remote Record.

  1. How many people or mobiles can register to my Sky+ box?
    You can have up to 8 different mobile numbers registered to the same Sky+ box, but you cannot register one phone number to more than one Sky+ boxes. Each person who wants to send recording requests to your Sky+ box will need to register for Remote Record on Sky Active.
  2. Why do I need to activate the service?
    Activation enables us to link your details to the Sky+ box where you want your recording requests sent.
