Setting up Mail Fetcher
Sky Email allows you to fetch mail from up to five other, non-Sky Email accounts. You'll be able to read email from up to 5 additional accounts, all in one place while taking advantage of Sky Email's great features. Please note that the email accounts you would like to fetch mail from will need to be accounts which support POP access, and some free email services don't support POP access at this time. POP access stands for Post Office Protocol and is the method used to retrieve your e-mails from a remote server through your broadband connection.
To set up Mail Fetcher:
1. Log into Sky Email and click Settings in the main toolbar.
2. Click Accounts.
3. In the Get Mail From Other Accounts section, click Add Another Mail Account.
4. Enter the full email address of the account you'd like to access, then click Next Step.
5. Sky Email will populate the Username and POP Server fields when possible, based on your email address.
6. Enter your Password.
7. Decide whether to:
8. Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server - if you'll only be accessing your email through your Sky Email account, leave this unchecked. If you'd like to be able to access your mail directly from that account, or if you're accessing it through any other accounts or devices, check to select this option.
9. If you'd like to keep a copy of each message Sky Email retrieves in your other mail accounts, select Leave A Copy Of Retrieved Messages On The Server. This way, you can access mail in your other accounts and in Sky Email as well. If you'd rather delete copies of messages that Sky Email retrieves, leave this option unchecked. Sky Email will delete the messages from the other account as those messages are retrieved, meaning that you'll only be able to read them in Sky Email.
10. Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.
11. Label incoming messages - if you'd like to automatically label all messages that are retrieved from your non-Sky Email account, select this option. You can choose to use the predefined label (your email address), or you can select an existing label or create a new one from the drop-down list.
12. Archive incoming messages. Mail from this account can be archived directly, without showing up in your Inbox.
13. Click Add Account.
14. Once your account has been added successfully, you'll have the option of setting it as a Custom From address. This allows you to compose messages in Sky Email, but have them appear to be sent from your other email account. Click yes if you want to set up a custom From address.
That's all that needs to be done. Sky Email will now check your other account on a regular basis, and new mail will appear automatically in your Sky Email account.
