To receive Sky broadcast signals, your Sky satellite dish must be positioned correctly. If you've purchased a Sky Satellite System, we highly recommend that you have it professionally installed.
The system features an inch oval dish, which allows reception from all Sky orbital locations. To receive signals from all of these locations, your Sky satellite dish must be aligned by tilt as well as elevation and azimuth. A professional installer can ensure that this is carried out correctly.

Dolby Surround transmissions make use of the two audio channels which are used in stereo TV broadcasts. In addition to the left and right channels they employ a centre channel for heightened ambience and special effects. The overall sensation is that of a 'soundfield' in front of, around and behind the viewer. Dolby is a trademark of Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation.

Cinema screens have a wider shape than many TV screens, so when movies appear on TV you often miss about 30 per cent of the picture where the left and right sides of the image are cut off. The widescreen (letterbox) format, preferred by many film fans, displays movies on a television screen as they were originally intended to be seen by the films' directors. In order to fit the whole picture on the screen, the image has to be reduced which is why you see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen when you watch a widescreen movie on your TV. There is no extra charge for widescreen movies.

On installation, your PIN will automatically be set as the last four digits printed on the back of your Viewing Card. We recommend you change this to a more memorable number, particularly if there are under 18s in your household, as soon as your system has been installed, in order to ensure the security of your Sky box.
You can change your PIN at any time using the Parental Control menu or alternatively online at sky.com 24/7.
If you are not the home owner or subscriber please check with them before carrying out this procedure.
Take a look at our help guide, Your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
